International Women In Engineering Day #INWED17

Chester Hall Precision Engineering Ltd attends the International Women in Engineering Day in partnership with Procat – Prospects College of Advanced Technology

Chester Hall Precision’s apprentice Becki attended for the day and here is what she had to say about it:-

I offered to help teach some manual skills during a PRO-CAT Women in Engineering day to try and show some young year 9/10 girls that there is a variety of different jobs within Engineering that women are more than capable of doing. Throughout the day I helped to show 2 groups of girls from different schools how to make a key ring. This included using a pillar drill, files and metal stamps.
The day overall was very rewarding as a few of the girls did start to consider engineering as a possible future career path. It was great fun to help teach the girls a couple of manual skills as well as listening to some lectures take place from experienced female engineers.
